DOGS, CATS PETS & ALLERGIES

While being aware of the allergenic potential of many animals to man, there is a widespread belief that there are breeds of dogs and cats that do not show these characteristics.

All dogs and cats are potential cause of allergy, however, has been shown that, although there is "hypoallergenic breeds, there are some animals that have a very low allergenic potential.

Among the many breeds of dogs and cats you can find a copy which does not cause you any allergies, on the contrary, an animal to which you are particularly sensitive.

Typically, this circumstance is not unique to one race is a statistical probability and does not mean that in every litter there is an animal relatively free of allergens!

Are you looking to adopt a puppy?

All kittens have the skin soft and supple and this tender age, a person with allergies can probably handle any of them and do not express any reaction.

With the growth the skin becomes less elastic, the sebaceous glands begin to produce more sebum to initiating the first symptom of allergies.

All types of skin, human or animal, contain these glands which produce an oily lubricant that keeps the skin elastic and shiny hair. E 'by these secretions which comes the cat allergen "Fel d1, which the cats then spread throughout the mantle through their continued work of self.

Once dried the allergen Fel d1 is easily dispersed in the air and remains at home for a long time.

It is considered very likely that about 80% of cat allergies are caused dall'allergene series Fel d1. This is why cats are probably responsible for two thirds of all reported allergies to pets.

Many hair, short hair or no hair!

All cats have glands that produce sebum. The amount of hair that a cat has not played any significant role with respect to its allergenic. Even if the dogs are not "self-cleaning" in the same way as the cats, however, is still the production of the sebaceous glands of the largest prevalence of cases caused by dogs. Like cats, the amount of hair of the dog has no effect on their ability to cause allergic reactions.

The dandruff, represented by those tiny particles of dry skin that the dog and the cat all the time lost, can also trigger allergic reactions. These particles are so small, sometimes invisible to the naked eye, from persisting in a suspension in the environment for a long time then going to nest on furniture and carpets.

L 'Urine of dogs and cats as well as ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters and mice, as indicated by recent studies, contains allergenic factors that can cause allergy in susceptible

Preventive measures

All this does not necessarily mean that we should abandon the idea of adopting a pet or that you can not find help to continue to take one!

There are many steps that can be taken at home and products that in most cases facilitate the solution of the problem.
